Chris joins the board after resigning as Australia’s Consul-General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner in San Francisco, USA.
He has many years’ experience in project development and community consultation in the delivery of economically and socially important infrastructure.
Prior to him accepting the role of Consul-General in 2015, Mr Oldfield was the Chief Executive Officer of Tasmanian Irrigation Pty Ltd. During that period he also served on the Joint Commonwealth and Tasmanian Economic Council.
FOUNDER, PROJECT LEAD
Named in 2009 one of Australia's 'Top 30 Under 30 Entrepreneurs', and Australasian Student Entrepreneur of the Year by RMIT & the University of St Louis, Adrian brings 12 years of property development experience working on major projects spanning 4 countries and worth in excess of $4.6 billion dollars.
In 2012 Adrian decided to channel his passion for triple-bottom line business, clever architecture and smart design in our built & natural environments towards testing the feasibility for a holistic solution for Mount Wellington. He built the MWCC team from scratch and is ultimately responsible for positioning the company on its current strong trajectory to achieve our mission and vision.
Adrian is responsible for refining the design and architectural solution to ensure the final product reflects over 20 years of community input.
Jude has had over 30 years of extensive experience in all areas of the Tasmanian tourism industry at senior executive levels. The powerhouse behind Federal Groups' Pure Tasmania brand that created iconic projects such as Saffire, she also previously helped create the Woolstore Apartment Hotel with Richard Sattler, as well as the Innkeepers chain.
She was appointed to The Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority in December 2009, has spent 4 years as an active Director of Ecotourism Australia, and until 2012 was also a Director of Tasmania’s Southern Regional Tourism Association, TasSouth and the Tasmanian Convention Bureau. In 2015 Jude was appointed as a Director of RACT, RACT Destinations, and RACT Travel.
Jude is responsible for our marketing, PR and tourism delivery.
Tony Shadforth was a director of stockbrokers Shadforth Limited, Bellamy’s Organic, Lark Distillery and the Asthma Foundation of Tasmania and is currently a director of Cutri Fruit, Castray Capital and the Victorian-based charity; The Maddie Riewoldt Vision.
Mike brings 30 years experience in the cableway industry within Australia and abroad, having been General Manager for Skyrail Rainforest Cableway near Cairns during its construction phase and first few years of operation in the 1990's. Mike has also been General Manager of Thredbo Alpine Resort, Guthega Ski Resort (now Perisher), as well as Ski Dubai.
For the past 3 years Mike has served as a judge for the National Tourism Awards, and has come to know the Tasmanian industry and its potential well.
Mike's invaluable experience from Cairns provides us with the very best Australian know-how to deliver the proposal.
COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICER
Christian is our Community Liaison Officer and Board Secretariat, responsible for facilitating community engagement and negotiations for the project, coordinating meetings with various government & industry stakeholders.
Christian is also General Manager of Riser + Gain, the property consultancy which gave birth to MWCC and which he co-directs with Adrian Bold.
Christian has experience establishing charities and social enterprise in the not-for-profit space such as the Mat Goggin Junior Golf Foundation, and is also charged with the responsibility to create MWCC's Community Foundation.
CHAIRMAN, INCAT. A stalwart of the Tasmanian business community, Robert brings a wealth of large scale innovation and a no-nonsense style of leadership. Larger than life and big on ideas, the MWCC board can count on Robert to think outside the square.
ANTHEA & DAVID HAMMON
JOINT MANAGING DIRECTORS / ENGINEER & CFO, SCENIC WORLD. Anthea & David are co-directors and 3rd generation owner of ScenicWorld in Australia's Blue Mountains. Managing the nation's most popular privately owned tourism attraction has offered MWCC a wealth of long-term operational advice, statistics and data to ensure our venture in Hobart is built well and run well for the long haul.
CEO, VOS CONSTRUCTION & JOINERY. Beyond the standard client-builder supplier relationship MWCC has with Vos Constructions & Joinery, CEO Adrian Bott is a key adviser and mentor to the MWCC pre-operational board. As an accountant by trade, Adrian has helped steer the project costings and provided high-level advice with stakeholders, cherishing the project's challenges.
RETIRED, STRATEGIST. Adrian Bold's father is responsible for emigrating the family from South Africa and ultimately settling in Tasmania. With a long career as a software architect, political scientist and business strategist, Richard has shepherded Adrian's ambition from an early age, helping steer his first company through the GFC and continues as a trusted high-level advisor to the CEO.
DIRECTOR, DIRT ART. Simon is a young dynamo and a key plank in realising Australia's growing mountain bike tourism industry. Simon's lending his passion for the mountain to steer the development of new mountain bike trails and trail heads that integrate with our project, which MWCC will seek to fund and maintain through our Community Foundation.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, AUSTRALIAN INNOVATION & RESEARCH CENTRE. A highly successful product of Silicon Valley in the 80's, Jack English co-founded the AIRC in Hobart after establishing the Entrepreneurship Major at UTAS (and first meeting Adrian Bold as one of his first students) in 2002. Since retirement Jack has remained a political and investment mentor for Adrian.
